Spirit
of Texas Salsa started as a way to provide
Christmas gifts for family and friends during
a lean economic time in 2003. We liked the salsa,
but we had no idea that so many others would too.
We made countless gallons to give away which turned
into countless more gallons that folks wanted
to buy. Several SOTS fans urged us to look into
turning the product into a business venture and
to be honest it was getting more and more difficult
to make it in the quantities folks were requesting.
Since we were looking for ways to do more to provide
for our families we decided to take it to the
next level. Lucky for us, we had no idea what
to expect and didn't know enough to be afraid
to give it a try. We continued to make the salsa
upon request until November 2005 when our first
"official" batch was produced by a professional
bottling company in Dallas
We have always had so much support from our fans,
it's incredible. When things seemed like they
wouldn't get off the ground they came to our rescue
with words of encouragement and wisdom. Their
enthusiasm is what has kept us going and has helped
us get through the long process of making Spirit
of Texas Salsa available to more folks
Since
those early days we've grown at a slow and steady
pace. Our bottling operations are located in Abilene
Texas. The co-packer personnel are wonderful and
know our products as well as we do. We have retailers
in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma,
Texas and Wisconsin. We also have a steady flow
of fans that order online and send us the nicest
compliments. You are all wonderful and very much
appreciated. This past December we were privileged
to be chosen as the December salsa of the month
for www.AmazingClubs.com.
We're
still a young company and hope to continue to
make a product everyone enjoys as well as to make
a difference in the community. We've had the opportunity
to sponsor various events and make donations to
a handful of organizations over the last two years.
In addition to sponsoring the 2006 Spirit of Texas
Salsa Buckle series at Hopper
Ranch in Aubrey, Texas and the McKinney North
High School Women's Basketball program, we've
been honored to support the Michigan Chapter of
the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society, The
Caring Bridge, The
Salvation Army and Make
a Wish Foundation of North Texas. We have
also donated product to several causes such as
Gilda's House, the Lance
Armstrong Foundation, various local school
districts and gymnastic schools.
For
our new fans—Thank you for joining
us and we hope you’ll stay around for awhile!
Please feel free to send your comments, suggestions,
thoughts or ideas. We always like to hear from
you.
To
our friends and family—Thank you
for being there for us and hanging in there with
us! Your support is priceless. We know you’ll
keep telling us what you think and what we need
to hear! That’s what we love about you!
To
K and J—You’ve kept pretty
quiet through all of this even during our frequent
meltdowns.
We thank you for that! Even when ya’ll don’t
utter a word, you’ve spoken volumes!
